Most organisations would acknowledge the need for having an up to date marketing strategy as a part of their business plan. For some, the marketing strategy is synonymous with the business plan.

But for many, the process of developing a plan ends up taking second place to 'doing marketing'. There just seems to be too little time to plan, or, those responsible are uncertain of the processes involved.

Whatever the case, Coussins Associates have a practical solution.

Of course there are some basic headings that should be considered for any marketing plan. However, we don't provide the plan for you. We can, of course, produce a plan that will meet your needs. But you won't own it, it won't be informed by your experience and market expertise, and it will be unlikely to recognise your constraints.

So we produce marketing plans by working with you in a series of brief facilitated workshop sessions. These provide a structured basis for you to review your market place, consider your marketing objectives, decide on which products and which markets, developing pricing and channel strategy, select the optimum marketing communications mix, and work out a fully costed and timed action plan to implement it.

The process allows us to show you the tools appropriate to your marketing planning needs, facilitate the use of those tools to develop the plan, and then challenges your output through the consultancy element of the session. Schematically it looks something like the following:
